About two weeks ago now, I had dinner at my family’s
favourite Thai restaurant in Brisbane.
Kinn
Thai has to be one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to! Their menu
puts a very unique and almost modern day spin on traditional Thai dishes. It even offers Southern Fried Chicken!
The assortment of
flavors in each of their dishes is nothing short of scrumptious. It is Thai cuisine done to absolute perfection!
We
ordered a few of our favourites including, Sizzling Beef, Green Curry, Soft
Shell Crab, Chicken Fried Rice and Cashew Chicken. We also tired the Sa-li
Salad which included Chinese pear, fried fish, mint, coriander, bean sprouts
with a chilli tamarind sauce; SO good (I think the pictures speak for
themselves)! This restaurant does a really great range of Thai salads, which is something
I don’t see often when eating at Thai restaurants. A few of my family members
ordered Thai Ice Tea, which brought back so many memories from Singapore as it
tasted practically identical to their iconic Ice Lemon Tea. It is definitely
hard to find good Ice Tea in Australia.
As we were celebrating my mum and one of my brother’s birthdays, we couldn’t possibly turn down
dessert! I ordered an amazing dish including sticky rice, Thai fruits and the
most AMAZING coconut ice cream. Seriously, I could have eaten this dessert forever,
it was super delicious. One of my brothers ordered a Chocolate Lava Cake and
the other ordered a Thai style French toast that came with butterscotch sauce.
The food was definite hit for everyone.
Kinn has a really great, cozy, comfortable atmosphere, which makes it easy to have an
enjoyable time. I always feel like it’s hard to fault a restaurant when they
deliver your food within 10-15minutes, and this is definitely part of the reason
I keep coming back to this restaurant.
The menu offers a great selection of dishes for both adults and
children. It is also pretty reasonably priced, where the average dish will set you
back around $19. I highly recommend making a reservation beforehand as it is always incredibly busy and sometimes waiting for a table can take around 30 minutes. If you’re in the Mt Gravatt area you should definitely
consider stopping by Kinn, where an exotic Thai feast awaits!
