My Singapore Must See #4: Christmas at Orchard Road

Hello! This week I have yet another installment of ‘My Singapore Must See’.  I do have to say, I thoroughly enjoy writing these posts.

For two years now I have been able to witness the beauty and magic that is Orchard Road at Christmas time. It really is something spectacular.

If you are a Christmas lover and have been counting down the days for months (no shame), you will surely adore this glimmering road.  The entire stretch of road is adorned in colourful decorations, towering Christmas trees, seas of lights and even tables serving high tea!  It is an absolute masterpiece.

This magical assortment which drowns the road immediately ignites excitement and an outpour of festive spirit in all who pass by. You can’t help but sing along cheerfully to the Christmas carols blaring out of the shop doors.

I visited the Christmas decorations at Orchard both during the day and at night, allowing for me to see the wonderful transformation that takes place. Both times of day are really something special. Although, I personally prefer night time. The weather is more pleasant and seeing the colourful lights dance in contrast to the dark night sky adds to the festive ambiance. The long stretch of road glows as far as the eye can see.

The decorations at Orchard road are definitely the some of the most spectacular and extensive I have ever seen. Everywhere you look there is a new theme of colourful ornaments layered outside shopping malls and store fronts.  I recommend absolutely everyone to see this road before the festive season is over. You will have no choice but to plunge face first into the excitement that is Christmas.
