On Saturday night I went with some friends
for dinner and to check out the Collective Markets in Southbank.
These markets are open on Fridays from 5pm-
9pm, Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
They are located just past the Cultural
Centre and the Wheel of Brisbane, which makes for an incredibly scenic walk.
The markets themselves weren’t as large as
what I had anticipated. There are about two rows of stalls, which carry
predominantly nick nacks, jewellery and clothing. There are only about three or
so food stalls. I assume this is because there are so, so many restaurants
surrounding the markets.
Some of the stalls were selling incredibly
tempting items. There were some lovely clothing stalls whereby the clothes were
really well priced. The ambiance of the live music and busy alleyways made for
a really lovely evening.
I am definitely more of a foodie when it
comes to which markets I want to go to, so I am not certain that I would be
coming back to these markets. Although,
I am happy I went because it has been on my list of things to do!
